Microsoft Office Not Activated

Overview


This article describes the process of resolving a "not activated" error for credit students with their Microsoft products.

 

Instructions


Windows Operating System:

  1. Uninstall all versions of Microsoft Office.
    1. Navigate to Control Panel.
    2. Select Programs.
    3. Select Programs and Features.
    4. Right-click the Microsoft applications and select Uninstall.
  2. Reboot the machine and confirm that the programs were uninstalled.
  3. Re-install Microsoft Office products.
    1. Sign in to Office 365 Student Advantage.
    2. Enter your JCCC email (username@stumail.jccc.edu), select Next.
    3. Enter your password, select Sign in.
    4. Select Install Office.
    5. Select Office 365 apps.
    6. Select Close on the pop up.
    7. Run the file that is downloaded.
    8. Office 365 will automatically run through the installation and will let you know when the installation is complete.

Mac OSX:

  1. Uninstall all versions of Microsoft Office.
    1. Navigate to the Finder application.
    2. Select Applications folder.
    3. Drag the icon(s) of the Microsoft applications to the trash.
    4. Select the Trash icon located on the bottom right of your screen.
    5. Empty the trash.
  2. Reboot the machine and confirm that the programs were uninstalled.
  3. Re-install Microsoft Office products.
    1. Sign in to Office 365 Student Advantage.
    2. Enter your JCCC email (username@stumail.jccc.edu), select Next.
    3. Enter your password, select Sign in.
    4. Select Install Office.
    5. Select Office 365 apps.
    6. Select Close on the pop up.
    7. Run the file that is downloaded.
    8. Office 365 will automatically run through the installation and will let you know when the installation is complete.
