Overview
Many instructors will conduct class online in Canvas via Zoom. This article describes how to join a Zoom class meeting for students.
Instructions
To join a meeting on a desktop/laptop computer:
- Login to Canvas.
- Select your course from the Dashboard.
- Instructors commonly use the tabs of Syllabus, Home, and Announcements for the Zoom link.
- If you are unable to find the link, email your instructor and ask them to share it with you.
- Select the link to join the class meeting.
- If the meeting doesn't automatically start after the download completes, select the link from your instructor again.
To join a meeting on your mobile device:
- Download the Zoom application from the App Store.
- Log in to your Canvas account.
- Select your course from the Dashboard.
- Instructors commonly use the tabs of Syllabus, Home, and Announcements for the Zoom link.
- If you are unable to find the link, email your instructor and ask them to share it with you.
- Select the link to join the class meeting.
- Your phone will switch to the app and automatically join the meeting.
