Open a Private Browser Window

Overview


This article provides instructions on opening a private browser window in a variety of Internet browsers. Private browser windows help you browse the web without storing browsing data so that it can't be retrieved later. This means that your searches, visited pages, login details and cookies will not be saved on the device after you close your private windows. 

 

Instructions


Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Select the  menu button at the top right.
  3. Select New incognito window.

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Select the  menu button at the top right.
  3. Select New Private Window.

Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select the  cog wheel at the top right.
  3. Select Safety.
  4. Select InPrivate Browsing.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Select the  menu button at the top right.
  3. Select New InPrivate window.

Safari

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Select File at the top.
  3. Select New Private Window.
