Recommended minimum computer specifications for online learning:

  • OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11 for PC / macOS 10.13 High Sierra or higher
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD equivalent or better
  • Display: 13" or larger
  • Memory: 8GB or higher
  • Hard Drive: 256GB Solid State Drive (SSID) or higher
  • I/O ports: Two USB 3.0 ports
  • Camera/Mic: Built-in
  • Video out: HDMI or DisplayPort
  • Wireless: AC preferred, N minimum 
  • Warranty: 3 year or better
  • Backup Solution: Use of Cloud-based storage such as OneDrive, iCloud, or Google Drive or External Storage Device   

This standard supports basic software applications needed for online learning such as:

  • Browser
  • Canvas
  • Yuja
  • Zoom
  • Office 365 applications

  • The above are minimum suggested specifications - please check requirements for additional applications you plan to install on your computer.
  • Chromebooks and iPads may not be fully compatible with Canvas, Zoom, and Yuja applications.
  • Chromebooks do not allow the download of Microsoft 365 applications.
    • They offer online access to the applications, but some key features are missing between the two experiences and may be required features to complete homework.
  • Snapdragon processors are not compatible with Cisco AnyConnect if VPN connections are required.
