Overview
Students who need to access refunds via the Financial Aid portal need to have MFA for JCCC and MFA for Touchnet. If they don't have a phone, they van use a personal email for Touchnet and a YubiKey for JCCC. However, to set up the YubiKey, they have to have a phone to get into their account.
The TSC has a shared number for these situations so that the student can get the YubiKey setup.
Instructions
The number used is: 913-398-7325
- Follow our typical security process to confirm the student is who they say they are.
- Delete any MFA that isn't valid.
- For details on how to access the student's MFA, revoke any non-working numbers, and enter the above number, see this KB: https://planning.jccc.edu/TDClient/37/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=1500
- Add +1 9133987325 as the primary MFA.
- You'll have to select Call as we don't have SMS options with Zoom.
- When this number is dialed it will ring Mark Barbosa, Kathryn Douglas, Dave Prebyl, and Chad Martin.
- You will want to work with one of the four above to warn them that you are about to call this number.
- Have one of the above people answer the call when it attempts to verify.
- Help the student add a YubiKey to their account.
- Here is the KB to follow for instructions: https://planning.jccc.edu/TDClient/37/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=1904
- Remove the TSC shared number.
- Confirm that the student can log in with the YubiKey.
- They'll need to have MFA set up for TouchNet, too.
- TouchNet allows personal email addresses.
- As long as they know their password, they can log into their personal email account from the front desk, library, or SC location.
- If they need to change their TouchNet MFA, they'll need to reach out to the Bursar who can remove the current one and allow the student to set a new one.
